As you may already know, warts on the feet are called plantar warts or  foot warts. This is caused by a virus called the human papillomavirus or HPV.

IMPORTANT: This virus IS spreadable from human to human, and can even grow on other parts of your body. The good news is, it is NOT cancerous and it CAN be treated.

When And How Did I Get Plantar Warts In The First Place?

Actually, I can’t seem to recall exactly when I contracted this skin conditions but it must have happened about a year ago. At that time, I already had 3 tiny warts appearing on the sole of  my feet but because I felt no pain whatsoever, I kind of ignored it, hoping it will vanish sooner or later. It never striked me as something that I should be concerned about.

Well… not until recently…

I was playing netball with a few friends, when suddenly, I felt like a sharp object piercing through my foot. (As if I had stepped onto a nail or something).

Instantly, I knew something was wrong and the very next day, I went to the doctor. After examining my foot, the doctor confirmed and verified that I was infected by the human papillomavirus (HPV) or more commonly known as plantar warts or planter warts. I told myself from that day that I had to do something quickly and find the right plantar warts treatment.

For the plantar wart removal, he suggested surgery, but I refused. I wasn’t too excited with that method. I thought to myself, surely there must be some other less painful and less expensice way to get rid of warts. Did you know there is a 30% chance of the virus NOT being removed with surgery? Yeah! I was surprised as well.

Anyway, time went by and I kept on procasitinating. By the time I started taking my foot wart condition seriously and actually getting down to finding the right plantar warts treatment, several new warts began to appear. Now, I was really scared and began to worry.  I had to do something fast to stop the warts from spreading!!!

Which Plantar Warts Treatment I Used?

(1) The Gel – for Plantar Warts Treatment

Verdict: It didn’t work for me!

The first place I shopped for a remedy was at www.drugstore.com. I bought this gel called Compound W and began applying 2x a day (morning and night). Apparently even my doctor suggested this treatment method since I wasn’t too keen with surgery but after applying the gel for 2 weeks or so, I hardly saw any difference at all.

(2) The Salicylic Acid – for Plantar Warts treatment

Product Name: Dr. Scholl’s Clear Away One Step

Verdict: It didn’t work for me!

Next, I  tried another treatment which uses an active chemical called salicylic acid. From the same online store I purchased this product and poured a tiny drop of acid onto the effected area to kill the virus. One thing is, I didn’t feel any burn effect immediately but on the next day, I got a very painful blister. The warts seemed to dissapear at first but when checked after 3 weeks, they reappeared again.

(3) Wart Freezing – for Plantar Warts treatment

Product Name: Compound W-Freeze Off

Verdict: It didn’t work for me!

After failing to see any results from both the treatments above, I began asking friends and members in health forums. Some suggested using a product called “Freeze Off”. I immediately purchased  it online and began using it. I applied all the dosages but there was no difference. Supposedly, the wart should fall off after using this product between 10-15 days, but there was no difference.

(4) The Medicated Strip/Patch – for Plantar Warts treatment

Verdict: Tried it! Very messy procedure. It only works for new warts…so again, it didn’t work for me!

The treatment can be a little complex. First I had to soak the affected area and completely wipe to dry. Then with the emery file given, I had to flatten the outer layer of the wart. After peeling the blue plastic film from the strips provided, I had to cut the strips precisely according the size of the wart to make sure the unaffected areas did not come into contact with the medicated area of the strip.

Then I pasted it one by one onto the wart. Then once the strips were in place, I had to bandage the strips all night long (for 8 hours). I repeated these steps every night for 12-15 nights, I think. However, I only saw very little improvement. Two new warts were healing BUT not the older warts. I continued applying this strip technique for almost a month, but sadly none of my old warts dissapeared.

(5) Natural Oil Remedy - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -
